Ride to Manheim Long April 4
Rain Rain Rain. Karen Drawbaugh

Central Manor April 4
Showed up to ride, hoping it could possibly be a "go". Leader & Ken decided with wind gusts up to 40+ mph it would be safer not to indulge, regretfully speaking. Rick Lehman (leader) and Ken Lessans

Suburban Urban Assault April 4
No shows for the 10 am B ride. Perhaps since it was the first day of daylight savings everyone forgot to reset their clocks. But maybe it had something to do with the fact that it was 37 o and raining! Leader: Gary Musser.

Sunday Evening Social April 4
Cold, damp, windy ride, but fun. Riders: Jack Bingham (leader) and John Mullineaux

Penryn Pancake Promenade April 10
Great day for a bike ride. Sun, clear skies with a little head wind, but not as bad as it has been recently. Two women from New York showed up, Julie Goldscheid and Penny Damaskos. They got ride information from the LBC web site. They said that they would do it again next time they are in the area. Leon Hoover from Willow St. also showed up on, I believe, his first ride with LBC. Hope to see you again, Leon. The ride got off to a mass start, but of course that ended soon. The fast riders took off and then we had a middle group and a back group where the leader was. Some one said that Lou Gray had a flat. We waited at Stauffer's for a while, but didn't see Lou or Steve Schmohl. The group made its way to Molly's in Manheim. Once again we waited to see if Lou & Steve would show up. John Gantz and I were on the side with the benches. I looked out and everyone had left. John and I took off. Later we caught up with the D ride; I believe it was on Kissel Hill Road. Got back to the parking lot and some people had left, some were getting ready to leave and a few were still coming in. Never did see Lou or Steve, but hope everything worked out OK. Riders: Ray Landis (leader), Don Whitehead, John Mullineaux, Mike Tshudy, Steve Schmohl, Mike Lutz, John Gantz, Rich Wagner, Tim Barkley Sr., Mike Gibson, Lou Gray, Ed Fearnow, Jake Myers, Leon Hoover, Brian Mitchell, Bob Brader, Tammie Calabrese, Danielle Calabrese, Bill Ressel, Mark Sandblade, Craig Shreiner, Ron Herr, Frank Herr, Julie Goldscheid and Penny Damaskos.

New Witness Tree Trek April 18
What a great day and a great ride. So many things happened that I will just start at the beginning and see what I come up with. In the parking lot things started to happen. Steve Schmoll showed up and as I was getting him to sign the ride sheet, he said that he thought he had pneumonia. It was already close to 70 degrees. Kim and I got a laugh about this. John M. showed up with his new bike that weighs all of 2 pounds. Trying to get Brian Mitchell to sign up was a treat; he had his mouth full of something and was trying to talk. He sounded like he was talking in tongues. There was a woman from New Jersey there; she got the ride information from our web site. Sorry, I don't remember her name, but she was a strong rider. Some young man forgot his helmet and had to go back to get it. He took a Q-sheet and said he would catch up. Lew Hershey said that he was going to take it easy on the ride; remember that statement. Nancy from York was there with her daughter, Corey. It was Corey's birthday and just about everyone sang happy birthday to her. I tell you there were more than just me who had a tear in their eye. All this before the ride even started. Time came and we took off. This group was fantastic. I say this because they actually left me be in the front for the first 1.1 miles. I couldn't believe it! After that they put me where I belong, in the rear. Along the way the young man that forgot his helmet did catch up to those riding at the rear. Nancy flatted and John Gantz and I stopped to help fix the flat. Remember Lew Hershey? Well, he took off with the fast riders; I'm not through with him yet. The group I was in consisted of John Gantz, Nancy, Corey, Kim, Roger and the guy who forgot his helmet. We rode on and met up with some of the group at the Sheetz in Mt. Joy. They took off before us; we followed and kept up a pretty good pace. Now for Lew Hershey. He said he was going to ride back from Sheetz with us. The riders he was with had over a 16 mph average. So much for him taking it easy. Back at the parking lot Nancy brought out some home made brownies and passed them around. She baked them for Corey's birthday. What a Mom! Oh yeah. John & Lew with their bionic hips are riding great. It's really unbelievable. Riders: Ray Landis (leader), Mike Gibson, Lew Hershey, Steve Gerber, Bill Ambler, Judy Sharp, Rick Reisinger, Steve Schmohl, Kim Lausch, Matt London, Sylvia Wes? , John Mullineaux, Brian Mitchell, Andy Charles, Candae Deen, Cindy Davis, John Ryder?, Joe Knepper, Gail Kadio, John Gantz, Nancy Yost, Corey Brandt, Mary Stadden, Roger Sheaffer, Joyce & Vaughn Good, Lou Gray, Bill Ressler, Ted Will and Koki ??

Cornwall Furnace April 24
A beautiful spring morning brought 19 riders to this ride starting in Lititz. The pack split into one large lead group and a couple smaller ones behind. While there are a few climbs on this ride, the great scenery certainly makes up for the hills. And the 21/2 mile downhill on Rt. 322 helps the overall mph average. Seven non-members rode along today. Riders: Tim Ihrig (leader), Dirk Suereth, Mark Buckwalter, Brian Sowatsky, Becky Kauffman, Scott Wagner, Tom McPhillips, Ed Granger, Dale Burkholder, Marlin Hess, Rick Lehman, Ken Lessans, Rick Harting, Tom Wandzilak, Ron Herr, Barry Lavender, Andrew Hutuik, Michael Hendrix and Kendall Lehman.

Farmland Meander April 24

Honey Valley Ride April 24
The Honey Valley ride was a success, with a beautiful day and great fellowship. Comments about the ride from various riders follow. "You found some of the best jewels of York County on this ride." "Great ride and nice hills…if you're not a wuss." "Beautiful ride, not to be missed." "I needed this ride." "It was a very challenging and scenic ride. We should do more rides in York county." "Where were you when we were enjoying the hills of York County. It was a great ride, too bad you missed it. Can't believe so many people whimped out." "The Honey Valley ride was wonderful." Thanks to all who drove to Southern York County to do this ride. New Witness Tree Trek April 25
Rained out. Gary Musser.

Loop Bike Route April 25
The route was changed because the leader did not want to ride through down-town Lancaster. So, we went towards New Holland instead. The weather was pretty bad-cold and wet-so some of us cut the ride short to beat the rain. No major incidents, although Ray does claim to have seen some trout in a few of the larger puddles on the road. Riders: Mike Gibson (leader), Ray Landis, John Gantz, Cindy Davis, John Donati, John Mullineaux, Bob Brader, Candae Deen, Mark Fuhrer, Steve Gerber, Steve Brainard, Craig Shreiner, Scott Wagner, Matt London, Mike Lutz, Joyce & Vaughn Good, Brian Mitchell, Don Whitehead, Steve Schmohl, Angela Galgon, Diane Lausman, Lou Gray, Bill Ressler and Tony Denunzio

. Ride to Manheim Long April 25
The rain tried to hold off for nine brave souls. But we could not turn down hot coffee and donuts at Molly's. On Penryn Rd, the rain started and poured all the way to East Pete. Good luck to everyone who rode right home. Riders: Carl Kreider (leader), John McKelvey (sweep), Pam Klingensmith, Jim Payton, Harry Campbell, Dave Kessler, Tom Mellinger, Steve Mentzer and Ed Mowery.

Bossler Blast April 25
Cloudy, chilly morning with rain forecast for later in the day. About 10 miles into the ride we felt the first drops. By the 15 mile point the rain was becoming steady. The leader suggested an upcoming shortcut that would take us back to the start, cutting 8 miles off the route, but there was no deterring the peloton. They sallied forth and disappeared down Bossler Rd, so the leader split off and headed back. About then the wind picked up and it was now a cold, driving downpour. I arrived back at the start to find Angela sitting in her truck with the heater going. She had found an even shorter shortcut. The rest of the group straggled in about 25 minutes later looking like drowned rats. New rider Barry Lavender was facing 12 more miles to get home, so I took pitty on him (since he was already shivering) and drove him to Lititz. On the whole, very nasty riding conditions. Riders: Dirk Suereth (leader), Angela & Paul Swarm, Mark Buckwalter, Ken Lessans, Rick Lehman and Barry Lavender.
